OP (I think) finally settled this question above:
someone can call themselves a fan as long as they aren't stealing.
Watch at a friend's house? Good.
Go to the library? Fine.
Watch in class? Swell.
But if you're stealing/torrenting/pirating, you don't get to call yourself a fan, sorry.
Which, you know, fine, at least they're honest.
