My experience is with facebook that I often end up friend family members and friends of parents, people I grew up with.

Usually to be shocked at some of the views they hold. Dunno if it's the same for OP or what.

I just recently had a really vivid dream about being invited to hang out with my favorite LPERS and being bored out of my skull the whole time.

I am not sure what that says about me.

Have you read City of Crime yet? It might be my favorite Batman story. You might like it as a Hellboy fan, as well. I'd also recommend reading Gothic and No Man's Land.

Speaking of Hellboy and Batman, you might enjoy Gotham By Midnight (not to be confused with Gotham After Midnight! That's a terrible mini with Kelly Jones art, avoid avoid avoid.) It doesn't really focus on Batman, but on a small hodgepodge police unit starring Jim Corrigan (the host for the Spectre) and a few other characters, including an IA officer who questions the unit's usefulness for all of about a day. And it has art by Ben Templesmith, who's a modern-day Mike Mignola if I ever saw one.

And I would also recommend Frank Miller's Daredevil run. It's like all the really good Batman stories he didn't write.

I always found him annoying smarmy, myself, but my best friend likes him a fair amount. Then again, she's always had a bit of a taste for smarmy guys.

AYRT

It's both disgusting and omnipresent, and people look at you like you're insane if you refuse to eat it.

The first three Bayformers movies. (Age of Extinction escaped my dislike.)

Cartoon Network (other people think it's irrational. I think it's entirely rational because every time one of my favorite franchises comes near that network it gets screwed over.)

Sweet potatoes with sugar on top.

Hey, is there some way to track a blogs specific tags? Like, I follow someone because I adore their art, but the general tone and crap from their posts not related to art really annoy me, so is there a way I can just see their art on my dashboard and NOT their main posts? Or am I just gonna have to use xkit and just block all posts not related to their art?

I can agree with this, I've had some nasty run-ins with shippers before now as well but I still don't lump them all together based on the actions of a few(and as you've said, the ones that are happily doing their thing don't make any noise and likely aren't aware of others being dicks).

I can't stand his accent, face, or demeanor. Or the fact that his name is so hard to spell.

Aliens, specifically the concept of heavily-armed soldiers vs an army of faceless monster bugs.

It's an age-old trope by now and I've played a zillion games like it, but I'm always on the lookout for something I haven't seen yet.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-20 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Mmhm. I've also seen and experienced it with other fans of characters I or others liked. Like, yeah, I could agree with the general complaint in some respects, or see their point, or whatever, but at the same time I can't help but think, "You guys are taking this WAY too damn seriously and overreacting." Which especially sucks if I tend to agree with them and have fun chats with them in general about the characters or pairings we both like most of the time.

For a while I kept mistaking him for Jesse Eisenberg. Once I got that sorted out Cera stopped bothering me.

It's funny you say this now, because 90% of the time I don't remember my dreams but I've had weird memorable dreams twice this week.

The background to Dream #1 is that we had a cat, Chrestomanci, who passed away in September. We have very recently gotten kittens, a boy and a girl. Very cute and full of energy. I dreamt that my family was being held hostage in our own home by a wizard and a witch. We couldn't leave the house until we were all wearing the proper clothing. It could be any items anywhere in the house. We are going nuts looking for the right things, there's clothes strewn all over the house, and the villains are just taunting us. They also keep turning into cats (random cats, not our cats) and chasing us up and down the stairs and stuff. Okay, this the kittens do, so that's where my brain got it.

Somehow, in some Rumpelstiltskin scenario, I manage to convince the witch lady to make me a dress. She's really mad about it, but she has to do it. She's cutting all the pieces of it out of this stretchy purple fabric. Eventually she's finished and I put it on in my room, upstairs. I instantly know I can leave wearing this. I make eye contact with the witch, and I see that she's ever so slowly reaching for this pair of scissors/shears that she used to make the dress. So we both tussle for them, and they get thrown across the room.

I yell for my family and run out onto the upstairs landing. The witch turns into our old kitty Chrestomanci and is attacking me. I don't know what to do. Then my dad is yelling to fight back, because she's not really Chrestomanci, she's doing that to get to me. So I somehow got away, and ran out the front door. I don't remember beyond that.

I'm not going to relay all the details of Dream #2, but I dreamt that a friend of mine died (she is fine) and I was talking with her husband and it was really weird and I don't like that dream nearly as much.

This. We all like something dumb, but it's better to own that shit than to pretend your dumb tastes are somehow better or higher than the next person's.

The only time Sandler has remotely been funny was in an apocalyptically bad movie he didn't even appear in, and he was only funny in that "I shouldn't be laughing at this" sort of way.

I like some of the outfits on the individual female characters in Overwatch, but I agree that their body-types are all the same bar like Zarya who they sort of tried with.

New Lara Croft I like though.
