The author just posted a new vignette/short story on her tumblr yesterday! She already has written a few of those and she's working on a new book as well!

Well said.

The Founding Father quadrant I follow on Tumblr predates the musical and are all history nerds/students, in addition to being, largely, pro-Hamilton. :)

That is one tiny moment though? And it's not like it doesn't make sense, or add to the story/character - he'd just ridden a long way and wanted to cool off, and he's comfortable because he's on his own estate. And the shirt he's wearing isn't actually that flattering. I think it's been played up over the years as being really sexy, but mostly I think it just adds to him being flustered when he bumps into Elizabeth unexpectedly because he's not 'formally attired'. And yes, I think it actually DOES add to seeing Darcy's true feelings and emotions, because he's so surprised at that moment that he repeats niceties and then walks away from her, and then collects himself when he goes to dress.

Why would anyone say "Jefferson's policies were so much better for the country?" I ask this with sincerity.

As a new nation, a strong federal government was needed in order to treat with other nations as an equal. Strong state vs weak federal government, at the start of a nation, how is that good?

An agrarian based economy, as all ready demonstrated in the war with Britain, would have put America in the position of dependence on other nations for high prices finished goods.

13 state militias vs one federal army and navy sounds like chaos.

Slavery. For me, the sharp disconnect comes from Jefferson's lofty, enlightened views of person freedoms and human potential contrasted by his deliberate withholding of that same freedom to non white, land owning men. I'm more than okay accepting the ignorance of the time in Washington, and every slave holding/soul crushing dictator that came before or after him.
Jefferson, however, wrote so clearly about the of enslavement (to Britain, to a Federal government). He *knew* human chattel slavery was wrong and chose to support it anyway. That's willful evil.

I think Jefferson's policies resounded deeply with white men, post revolution, America as it was. As a woman of color business owner in 2015, I thank god that Hamilton's far reaching vision shaped America as it could (and would eventually) be.
