The new lara croft. They cut her tit size down to a quarter of what it was, they gave her an almost human sized waist and they have her wearing semi-appropriate clothes.

Why do I still hate her so fucking much?

Oh, and Overwatch. I know why I hate it, it's the "all women have the same body type" bullshit, but I hate it to an irrational level. Like, I might be willing to murder some of the character designers if I ever got the chance.

Understandable. What book was it, if you remember? They were written / published out of order until like book 14 (the 13th released is chronologically #1...seriously!)

Nah, when it comes to range, I'd rather go for 'too young' than 'too old'. Thanks, I'll definitely check them out!

I honestly don't remember. Maybe the second or third?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-20 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Why don't you actually answer the question?

"You must be an MRA" is a cop out.

Aaand now you're sealioning. Beautiful. Go fuck yourself.

Oh god, the dialogue in the 2005 version was just atrocious. Whenever the writer deviated from the book, it sounded awful... like a generic "feisty girl" stereotype and not particularly Austen-like at all.

Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?
Elizabeth Bennet: Very well... although I wish you would not call me "my dear."
Mr. Darcy: [chuckles] Why?
Elizabeth Bennet: Because it's what my father always calls my mother when he's cross about something.
Mr. Darcy: What endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth Bennet: Well let me think..."Lizzy" for every day, "My Pearl" for Sundays, and..."Goddess Divine"... but only on *very* special occasions.

Elizabeth Bennet would never say such vapid, arch things in her life.

Middle grade is basically all I read 90% of the time.

Might sound a little silly, but you might want to consider the Ever After High books. Stars with The Storybook of Legends and I think the newest one comes out either next month or after that.

The first three (aforementioned, Unfairest of them All, A Wonderlandiful World) go in an order but the next three (Kiss and Spell, Next Top Villain, Semi Charming Kind of Life) are more slice of life.

I actually really liked his character, although if you want some good grey-area moral contemplation, JMS wrote a short story sometime after the story was complete called "Space, Time, and the Incurable Romantic," where many years after the event of the show, Ivanova's gamble pays off and Cole is recovered.

Unfortunately, he doesn't take his revival all that well, has Ivanova cloned, and gets them dumped on an uncharted utopic world together so he can live out his fantastical idea of a happy ending. JMS wrote this to be specifically both happy and hugely questionable.

The actor - I met him once - was an absolute sweetheart.

What do you like about Hellboy? Do you like the fairies and magical creatures from Hellboy 2?

Sharon Carter in the MCU

I wish she would just go away.

I just find her really, really bland.

I don't know why.

I love Peggy and Maria Hill and Natasha and Wanda. But I just want Sharon to go away...

I'm wondering how you'd feel about Steven Brust. I like his Dragaera because it's a rare world where humans are a minority (actually the Dragaerans insist they're humans and call us Easterners).

Authors: Lois McMaster Bujold, Diana Wynne Jones, Brandon Sanderson

TV: ATLA,

Whatever you get the drift XD

I've heard Diamond no Ace is good, but haven't seen it myself. Oofuri is nice too.

I'd love more historical fiction written closer to how it was when I was younger, when it was focused on family and friendship, not the sex lives of Victorians or time traveling romances. Or the other extreme where it's all the mundane thoughts of various historical politicians.

... or (ambiguously) gay characters. I'm thinking along the lines of Charlie Prince from 3:10 to Yuma.
Age of the movies doesn't matter.

'Sea Lioning'

There's a derisive term for asking people to back up their arguments now? Hilarious.

Internet debate really is going to shit.

Oh, you should also definitely check out Seraphina by Rachel Hartman. It's a great take on dragons and social issues in a world where humanity just made peace with dragons and now they're both struggling to maintain it.

What do you call the Islamic State?

Also, how do you pronounce "Daesh?"

I tried, but I didn't really manage to get into it at the beginning. Is it worth sticking through?
If I do, how many episodes should I give it?

Weeaboo originates from a webcomic and doesn't mean a goddamn thing.
