i'm in high school (11th grade ot be precise). i'm not some super-popular cheeleader prep, but i have plenty of friends. some of them like anime, some of them hate it, some of them don't exactly understand what it is.
all of them know i like it, though. i've worn bleach and YYH t-shirts to school. they see me reading manga. the "weeaboos", as you seem to think all anime fans are, all know i like one piece. some of them agree and some of them are all "lol how can you like that shit" but they all still like me.
whether or not you read/watch one piece should have NOTHING to do with whether or not people like you. if it does, you need to get different friends.
or at least go to a different school. or SOMETHING. because it's really sad that you think you can't be yourself without being mocked.
i mean, yeah, being realistic i know if i were a total freaking weeaboo who never shut up about how TTLY AWESOME THE MUGIWARA KAIZOKU-DAN DESU was then i might get on people's nerves. but becoming a "laughing stock"? for just liking a series?
have some self-confidence! be proud of you the way you are. don't be ashamed for reading the best manga that's ever been published.
