I didn't misread anything. Ambiguously brown is a racially connotated term usually used to imply that a character is of a different non specified race that the others around him so stop pretending that it isn't a race thing.
And I have as much proof as you for your claims, so that makes us even (it's mostly anecdotal, witnessed myself, but people like you only count their own anecdotal evidence as proof so, yeah).
