I read a con report in which Jared got the people he was being photographed to do the blue steel face with him, rather than vice versa. How much they mind that stuff probably depends on which actor it is/what mood they're in at the time. Personally I don't see what the problem with just getting a normal picture is, but I don't think you can just assume that actors think requests are dumb.
