38. Ongoing series usually have bigger and more active fandoms than those that ended without even a proper ending. I stopped reading Shaman King (around volume 22; don't tell me I didn't give it a chance) because it got increasingly boring and weird and because I knew there wouldn't even be a resolution at the end. Maybe I'll give it another chance next year when the real ending is released, but it's been too long, I've moved on entirely in the meantime.

Like someone above said: Shaman King still has a decetly-sized following. People recognize the title, there are fansites, communities, fanfiction, fanart, news gets reported and discussed.
There are series who are better than Shaman King and who get a lot less attention. Does it really have to be the biggest fandom for you to be satisfied?
