Shipping two characters or real people in the privacy of your head or hell, even in the more public forum of the internet etc. etc. is quite harmless, really, unless you go to batshit-crazy-stalker-fan levels with it. There are much, much worse things. That's my take on it, anyway, and that's why I always kind of go "buh?" at people who are like "YOU'RE A HORRIBLE SICK TWISTED PERSON FOR SHIPPING THIS!".
