I know exactly how you feel anon. My friends with well paid, transferable jobs are all looking at fleeing abroad. I'm stuck here and I genuinely believe my life will end when I an either forced to become homeless or kill myself. I have major skin problems, I wouldn't survive a year on the streets so I have the exact number of tablets I need saved up ready.

I was going on a week long holiday to Edinburgh with two friends. I knew there was a concert of a band I like but we didn't get tickets beforehand so we weren't planning to go. Right in the row in front of us in the plane were a father an daughter who flew over there just for the concert and we struck up a conversation.

Fast forward to one day later: We spontaneously went and got some of the last few concert tickets on a whim and when queuing up for entry, in the very, very long line of people, we happened to be exactly in front of the same people we met on the plane.

One year later, there was a concert by the same band close to where I live and we ran into them again. Sure, it's not unusual to meet the same people at a concert of a band you like but what are the odds of directly running into them several times in a crowd of several hundred people?

And Scotland seems to be a great place for these coincidences. I was on holiday with my parents and we stayed at a B&B and another couple from our country was staying there. Then we traveled on, a few hundred miles, and met them a few days later on a small woodland walk. Another few days and hundred miles later, we went on a small boat trip on the Loch Ness and the only other two people on the boat? That couple. It was weird but also funny.

This may come as a surprise to you, but in the real world people use different tones of voice. I realize that you can't understand that, since tones of voice do not exist in text messages on reddit threads as is your only means of communication, but we who interact and date in fleshspace already do have a fairly reliable way of using "no" in ways that mean no and ways that mean not yet. Tone of voice and body language.

The young men getting hit with it are because those are the young men who are not only violent but also deliberately going after the black out drunk girls while being stone cold sober themselves. Do you know how hard it is to get cops to take rape allegations seriously? If it is not a full on slam dunk case then it is not getting near a prosecutor. Honestly, it's been so long I can't remember -- it was discussed on the Television Without Pity boards maybe 10 years ago, and IIRC the people responsible were posters on that board. It involved Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and my recollection was that he reacted with confusion and didn't engage with those fans any further.

Ah, yes. When, in the days before cell phones in every pocket, I was followed home by a guy who would not stop putting his arm around my shoulders, insisting that I "didn't mean it (no) like that," that I would like him if I got to know him, asked "is this your house? I don't listen to many fanmixes anymore, but back when I did I much preferred the ones that fit the tone of the fandom/character/pairing. So if it was for Pirates of the Caribbean, eg, the best mixes (imo) were the ones that were part folk, part classical, part film score, etc.

I'd be more forgiving of top 40 music in a mix for a fandom where the characters might actually listen to that.

The more the MCU ensemble movies crawl up Tony Stark's ass, the less interest I have in them.

Oh my glob thank you! I was so annoyed with Ravi, he was so horrible to her about Blaine and so completely out of line! She did get a great scene where she called him out on it (after he made a suuuppppeeerr passive aggressive non apology to her) that made me not mad at the show as a whole, but I'm really off Ravi atm as a result of that nonsense.
