I don't make fun of them, I just wish that they had picked something more flattering. There are plenty of great characters more suited to larger people's body types.
I think everyone should take that into consideration when doing cosplay, though, not just overweight people. Exactly. Which is why I made my point of stick-thin Yoko without tits or ass. She's a character that's supposed to be curvy and has some meat on her, I don't want to see a super skinny flat girl in her costume any more than I'd want to see a fat person in it.
And just becaue the body type is right doesn't automatically mean it's a good cosplay. ^ This. Very much.
But if you're fat, even if it's a beautifully done costume, it's automatically bad because you're fat. I just wish it went both ways. That's why you cosplay for your body type. I guarantee you, no one is going to bitch about an overweight person cosplaying a character who is large, especially if it's well done. And if they do, they're a retard.
