I agree that this happens all the time, but I don't think that's a bad thing, either. Showcasing that a character is sexy doesn't necessarily mean "OH, SEXY = SEX OBJECT = NO RESPECT NAO." And male characters get a ton of "objectifying," when it comes to that- dressed in fancy outfits or sans shirts or in risque poses, etc. Fanservice is fanservice and it exists for tons of series, for both female and male characters.
