there was a lot of backlash against that game after it came out and now people look at it with whatever the opposite of rose tinted glasses are. sure, the second wave fighting mechanics were annoying and the repeated maps were lazy, but it also had some of my favorite companions out of any of the games. there's just a lack of objectivity when people talk about it.
