Casual sexism aside -- and it's a pretty big thing to set aside -- I HATE PACKMOM STILES. Really, I just hate fanon Stiles in general. How do so many people have such a fundamentally flawed understanding of who this character is?! He's not a blushing, traumatized woobie; he's not the caretaker of all things supernatural, and he's far, far from the heart of anything.

He's abrasive. He's kind of a jerk. He's a Tough Guy without the actual means to be tough, so he compensates by knocking people down with his brains isntead of his fists.

Damn. I thought I just didn't like fanon Stiles...now I kind of don't like actual Stiles.

Hmmm. I don't get the "tough guy" thing, but he's definitely abrasive & a bit of a jerk, but I love the ever-loving shit out of him because he's the smart one, the cunning one, the perfect one to be possessed by a trickster spirit, actually. . .

Ok, yeah, that's why I love Stiles. Tricksters are my favorite supernatural entities & Stiles is a Trickster, even when he's not possessed.
