Yes! Seasons 8 and 9 definitely did NOT feel like X-Files. The whole William thing was just a huge mistake, it turned all soap opera-y, and Mulder being gone just sucked all the fun out of the actual X-File cases. I also came to like Doggett (mostly because I enjoyed the whole unrequited love triangle thing), but I still pretend that Reyes never existed. Her character, and her actor, were awful and annoyed the heck out of me. They were obviously trying to recreate the M/S relationship in one season with them and were trying to slowly phase out M/S altogether, but us fans weren't having it.

Not too terribly sad that the season 8/9 stuff will be missing in the movie, but I wouldn't have been upset if Doggett were included.
