Nah, more like turns out you were confusing a broad commercial-writing audience for your industry brand/blog with a creative-writing audience for your fic for specific shows. Naturally the latter audiences will be much smaller.

Commercial creative meant to entertain and inform is still under the broad umbrella of creative work, but it's not the same thing as writing fic for the sake of storytelling. Fiction/literature and content-writing/marketing aren't the same industry for a reason.
