Well first, I was talking about fictional characters, so it's really the writers being afraid of the characters being seen as gay, and stupid to call homophobia a character trait of theirs when it's the writers who are writing them as no-homo bros because they don't want the fans to get the wrong idea.

Second, you also know some people are afraid of being seen as gay because other people will treat them with homophobia and they could be fired from their jobs, beaten, or killed, right? Including actual gay people? I mean, awesome for you if you live in a progressive city where you don't have to worry about that, but that isn't how it is everywhere, you know?
