I honestly don't know where they get their statistics on which genders watch which TV shows. I can sit my class down for a movie and all 15 out of about 25 boys will watch (and vote for) Bratz, care bears and Strawberry shortcake, while my girls will be perfectly content watching Power rangers and Nija turtles all day long.

Maybe I just got an extra special class. XD

107- OMG, I thought I was the only one! And it isn't just that movie, it's any of them. I find something to be ridiculously scared about.

132- That actually happened to me. This guy's car stalled in the middle of the street late at night when I was walking towards my friend's house. He wanted me to get in the car and drive while he pushed, I was like "Fuck no am I getting in your car! I'll push, and if you come near me, I'll let the cars that are coming hit you."

All I could think about was how much he looked like Jame Gumb.

Me too, but, to be fair, his character design is pretty girly. I guess it just shows that they haven't even watched a single episode with him in it.

We need more old school film secrets.

I have a friend who works in advertising, has to record all the survey responses and other input, and some of it, is.....pretty stupid. Cause some people just write down anything on those surveys, LOL. But that's how it works. It has nothing to do with sexism, it's just about what makes money.

And the Advertisers for childrens shows believe that boys will buy more action figures. Advertisers will pay more for shows that appeal to guys. *shrugs* I think the way they do TV ratings all out dated, as well, anyways. XD

I don't think anyone here is saying "stories with male protagonists are bad." Just, "it would be nice if there were more stories with female protagonists."

Gotcha. ♥ One I haven't seen.

1. Only becomes any sort of badass near the end of the movie.

I have to disagree. The moment she learned her husband was in danger she charted a jet plane to go and save him--when the plane crashed and she and her kids fell out of it, she was the one to calm her distressed kids down and formulate a plan. She takes down guards. She reached her husband on her own. I'd say she was badass from beginning to end, and her juggling the roles of a mother, a wife, and a superhero only increased her strength as a person and character.

Who is the movie really about? Mr. Incredible.

Also disagreed. We see as much of Mr. Incredible as we do of his kids and his wife and they all play their own major roles throughout the story. It's about, as the title indicates, the whole Incredible family.
