I create both fanfic and fanart, though I am better known for fic. A couple times now, fandom friends have approached me, asking if I take commissions. I will say sure, assuming they mean art commissions, but it will quickly become clear they want a fic commission. Which is apparently a thing now? The first person who approached me didn't follow through, but the most recent one really wants to. I am a little weirded out by the whole idea, both legally and creatively, but I haven't said no yet and am waiting for more detail on their part before I decide. Why do people keep asking me this? Are fic commissions a thing now? Has anyone on here ever been on either side of this? What do I do FS?
