For most of my life, I've been among the lower class, and I've been into anime, books, and games since I was seven years old. Yeah, I used to be jealous about my richer friends getting wallscrolls of Sailormoon or a Gundam Wing carddeck, but I never complained. Matter of fact, fandom brought me closer to people. But whatever.
If you're really, REALLY worrying about materialistic shit, versus food? There's something wrong with you. A couple months ago, I couldn't even buy REAL food, and I ate one meal of day of mother fucking RAMEN. I am so GRATEFUL that I don't have to live off of that shit, and worked a long way to improve my lifestyle.
So you know what? Someone from the same boat? That makes me headdesk, but yeah, we deserve better, don't we? Don't worry about materialistic things, be grateful for FOOD.
And ironically, those foods pictured are expensive.
