I like to read about trainwrecks, codependant relationships where the partners hurt each other and yet emotionally depend on each other. Abusive, demeaning relationships built from miscommunication and entitlement. Complicated, emotionally entangled relationships are exciting and dramatic. Perfectly healthy relationships bore me -- I get plenty of that in RL. I want cocoa, I go to the kitchen and make myself some, I don't need my characters drinking it for me.
