If people are cosplaying for the right reason - for fun, and to have fun with their hobby - then I'm sure they wouldn't laugh at you at all. As long as you're enjoying yourself and you're trying, that's something you have in common with them, and that's something you can all get excited about!

...that being said, though, yea. A lot of people consider cosplay to be like some sort of geeky professional modeling.

I don't know I'm probably a giant hypocrite, but I set high standards for MYSELF, not others.
