Hmm, maybe she is involved in anime fandom? Perhaps fandom for something teeny bopperish or on the Disney channel, where most of the fans range from now able to post on the net unsupervised, to age 18.
Remembered when I was first in fandom at 15, speaking to someone twelve or younger who I met in a chatroom wasn't so strange and squicky, although I didn't realize how I was perceived by those much older than I was, had no clue I was an annoying teeny bopper, until I was well 22. At that age someone pointed out my teeny-bopperish ways, and I made an effort to change my posting style, fanfiction writing habits, etc.
Re: 170, what fandoms are you in?
