Fucking signed, though I think you're underestimating just how much badfic there was. It was just a matter of learning where not to go to rectify that though. I only read fic, so I was oblivious to the shipping wank.

I hate seeing people diss this fandom, because no matter how many fandoms I've been in since, nothing tops GW. Writers could take these characters and do anything with them - political dramas, soap opera-ish epics, action, supernatural AUs (God, but the fucking fantastic AUs!) The inventiveness, originality and crafting of the very best authors in that fandom were second to none. I'll go and reread something like Future of the Past, the Source of All Things or Great America, realise it's every bit as awesome as I remembered, then get all sad that it's probably never going to be finished.

Funny thing is, I kind of thought the actual show was dull. I just miss the fandom.
