(Anonymous) 2019-01-21 02:38 am (UTC)(link)I think in this case you should be rooting for Kenyon-the-person rather than either side's legal victory, because this lawsuit in particular is mainly the work of the (soon to be ex-)husband who was attempting to poison her to death at the time. She'd been chronically and then terminally ill and then found out that he was poisoning her and that he and his mistress were trying to worm their way into gaining rights over her intellectual property.
This lawsuit was almost certainly part of his plan for that, since if it was decided in Kenyon's favour he would have more to inherit when he finally killed her, and if not then he would have established a reputation for her of her being a selfish idiot who didn't understand intellectual property rights, thereby making people in the writing community more sympathetic to him if she tried to fight his claim to her writing. Which she now is, after having learned that he was poisoning her to try to make his murder of her look like a natural death.
So, you know. I don't know much about what else she's done, but I have sympathy for her here.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-21 02:39 am (UTC)(link)Sorry, that should read She'd been "chronically" and then "terminally" """ill""" and then found out that he was poisoning her, as in, she was only sick at all because he was trying to kill her.

Honestly, the only thing I knew about her before was a terrible Buffy essay she wrote about how Buffy emasculates the men in her life. Still think taht is questionable. But knowing she was abused does make me feel for her. Holy crap. That's a horrifying thing to go through.
