It's not unusual at all. Seriously, my day job is working in a sex toy store. There is no reason that a young woman shouldn't be using extra lubricant. It reduces chances of condoms ripping, it increases the pleasure for a man wearing a condom, it reduces bad friction, it doesn't dry out the way a woman's natural lubricant can. Using lube is totally normal and makes good sex great.

No shame there.
