I agree that there's a real, meaningful distinction between moderate conservatives and far-right extremists.

But I also think that there's an important conversation to have about the extent to which the policies and goals of those two groups have been similar and the extent to which moderate conservatism was and is willing to make use of far right extremist tendencies. And I also think that the far right has largely captured and taken over pretty much all conservative institutions and structures.
