I used to sort of feel this way too (only not with anime). I mean, I thought, "A boyfriend will take up too much of my time and I like the way I spend my time right now." But then I got a boyfriend and he's the BEST. He's not even remotely a fanboy but he doesn't care a bit about me reading fanfic or doing anything. And the thing is... when you've got someone you really, really like (or love) then you want to spend time with them rather than do anything else. They'll say, "Do you want to hang out at my house and just lie on the bed talking?" and you'll be all, "I'LL BE THERE AS SOON AS I CAN!" It doesn't feel at all like you're taking time away from the other things you enjoy because this becomes your favourite thing to do.

Obviously it's fine not to want a boyfriend - being single is pretty fun as far as I'm concerned - but perhaps your reasoning could be a bit better. And chances are, you'll be able to find a boyfriend into all the same stuff as you and it'll be even more enjoyable. Anyway, boyfriends are pretty great.
