118 & 183

Whee! Late comment!

118: I haven't seen that episode yet (I haven't been wild about season 3 so far, so I'm likely going to leave it until it's completely finished and see if it works better for me as a cohesive whole), but I totally agree with you. I love Gwendal and I think Anissina is one of the best female characters I've ever come across in an anime.

And I don't like them together either. It just strikes me as completely OOC. They have this awesome brother/sister relationship that is absolutely hilarious, and I'd rather see a lot more of that than of them as a couple.

In general, I have a hard time seeing Gwendal getting involved with anyone. He's one of those characters that is best on his own, in my opinion (although I will read him with Conrad sometimes, which I find rather interesting after that episode about his relationship with Conrad's father). I feel the same way about Anissina.

I guess, for some people, them getting together is just an inevitability. I've noticed that a lot of these "childhood friend" pairings tend to be quite popular in anime and anime fandoms, but they really don't do anything for me. I've got male friends that I've known my whole life, and I couldn't be less interested in them sexually or romantically, because I know everything that's wrong with them. So, I have a hard time suspending my disbelief when it comes to those types of pairings.

TL;DR whut!

183: I'm not in the fandom at all, so I have no idea how popular the pairing is, but damn, Compte/Albert is a hawt pairing. I wish there was more fic of it out there than what I've been able to find. You should check out the series too, it's awesome.
