The only reason I take it as my guilty pleasure is that MS doesn't dress itself up to be anything other than what it is. It isn't projecting itself as being about "choice" or as a model or glamorizes Kyohei (that is his right?) as perfect and gentile. And yes it is sexist and not desirable, it at least acknowledges the dysfunction and plays that way.
Yes it is sexist, but at least it doesn't pretend that it isn't whereas Twilight I got the impression that I was supposed to see Bella and Edward as perfect love which creeped me out.
