Here's an idea. Why don't the load mouths on both ends of the political spectrum keep their opinions OUT OF MY FANDOM. I come on here to get away from this garbage and debate stupid issues like who should hook up with who or I hate that character and no one else agrees with me. The fandom isn't the place for people to dump their political or religious beliefs. Even in RL, I think that such matters are best kept private. You can avoid a lot of messy arguments that way.
Personally, I find it hard to share my political views with others because I'm liberal minded with the world around me, but I have strong personal morals that I apply for myself. I'm liberal on national/worldly issues such as gay rights and foreign relations. I'm conservative about how to discipline children and respecting authority. All of the people in my neighborhood are the opposite. But I don't go and rail them on their decisions. (Many of them wouldn't show me the same respect.)
Point is, just leave all liberal vs. conservative stuff for a debate team, ethics class, family dinner, ect. Don't drag it into a place that has it's own wank to sort through.
