If you were saying they were kind of a nonentity and hard to feel any meaningful emotions. Killing civilians = bad and peasants = sucky life under nobles, sure, but they did not do much to establish any of the 'Small Folk' (Hot Pie? Gendry before quickly revealed as Robert's bastard?) unless they were about to be raped and killed to show war is bad.

But vile and despicable? Because they cheered for Ned's death? When what most people were told was that he conspired against Robert and was a traitor?

When, during the riots caused by people literally starving to death, some men took advantage to attack and rape nobles? Do you think they wouldn't take advantage to attack the lowborn women too? As we saw in Dany's attack on Kimg's Landing, apparently everyone is quite willing to take a break to get a rape in.

That they jeered at Cersei during her walk of shame? Who they probably still hated for the whole starvation thing, even if she wasn't charged with adultery and incest.

I just ended up mocking the attack and finale with the person I was watching the show with, because I didn't feel much beyond irritation and disappointment.

But they think of themselves as kids, which is why they attack anyone who makes anything higher than PG rated and puts it where their delicate children's eyes can potentially see it.

It's wild. When I was that age everyone was overjoyed to finally be old enough to not have to lie about being over 18 in order to read porn on adult fanfiction sites.

Older people, as in like 65+ senior citizen older. Especially older women. Using the downsides of their social status to their benefit

What I'm saying is I want to see a movie about a bingo club of retirees who turn out to be engineers and mechanics and electricians and mystery novel writers and sweet old cat ladies who just can't seem to remember their PIN numbers that everyone sighs at and assumes are helpless

And I want them to heist a bank

Isn't that the opposite? The point would be is everyone is ageist and dismissive against the heist crew, so they get to wander in everywhere without any repercussion. Because "lol, old people" and they social engineer their way into everything

So a whole bunch of Max Landis' (alleged) victims have finally gotten together to corroborate the long-time rumors about him being an abusive piece of shit. The Daily Beast has a long AF article on it, if anybody is interested. Just reading it is a head-trip and a half (and probably triggery af for those who are triggered by such things).

Oh, I was just trying to be funny with the 'sexy' part. But that is, more or less, a lot of the point of the original Marple stories - Marple is written off as a silly old lady. Also a plot point in the Dorothy Sayers Wimsey novels - Wimsey at one point sets up essentially a detective agency mostly consisting of older women, run by Miss Climpson, a spinster who's one of the best characters in the whole series, precisely because she's good at inveigling gossip and not being noticed.

Basically modern Guy Ritchie movies. There's a ton I haven't seen.

I guess we could sprinkle a bit of Attack The Block but that's sci-fi/crime. Long Good Friday looks interesting, I wonder if I can rent it from the library.

I always think well of an author who manages to say nice things about truly shit art.

I'm not an artist and can basically only do manips, and I do respect bad artists for trying and try to see the charm in all sincerely effortful art, but I also feel especially bad for people who get paired with someone who didn't even try.
