Oh man.

I like both David Tennant and Michael Sheen. I like their acting and think they are both good actors, for the most part (they both sometimes have a tendency to overact in some roles). I think they are both attractive, generally. But every promo and still and clip I have seen from Good Omens makes them look varying degrees of awful, to me. Now I'm sure some of it is down to book depiction and character choices (full disclosure, haven't read the book), but I would guess they had some leeway and someone or a group of someones chose this and the other looks for styling and I just don't get it. It's so distracting to me.

Anyway I just hated what it did to Dany's character. She wasn't great at ruling after conquering but she tried to keep the actions of the ruling class separate from the powerless lower class.

I guess they tried to paper over that by having Dany talk about 'they had free will because not slaves!!'. Just fucking ignore not everyone is a slave but can still functionally powerless which Dany had seemed to understand fine when she was meeting with the goatherd who lost a flock to Drogon!

No, she grew up as the sister to the Beggar King. She's experienced it!

They couldn't bother to show her heading straight for the Red Keep either or at least make tightening loops so she knows Grey Worm and crew are on the outside edge.

No, Dany just randomly zigzags around like an idiot, putting her own army in danger because of crumbling buildings if nothing else. Not that the writers were willing to let any of them get crushed or get hit by a backwash of Drogon's which is inexplicable since they already wanted to show Dany goes too far so why not have her accidentally kill her own army members because she decided she was too good for strategy?

Or even the wildfire! They start doing green flame from the remaining caches and I'm like, oh man is this how she loses support, because she unintentionally starts a firestorm that sweeps over her own peo - nope meant nothing.

It's been awhile and I am a Fandom Old and now I am too embarrassed to ask what an anti is.

I felt that too, watching the trailers, but it's better in the show. Sheen in particular is amazing and made me fall in love with his character. I wasn't thrilled about Tennant's look at first but it totally works. He's dressed like that because he's a guy who thinks he's really badass but is in fact a complete dork. Basically they own the cornier aspects of the whole thing.

This. I don't think Freeman would be awful in the role, but I don't think it's a good fit.

Re: Good Omens fans - who was/is your ideal casting for Crowley and Aziraphale?

Never had an ideal cast, but I found this gifset of Jet Li and Jackie Chan well done.

Damn, glad Josh Trank is speaking up. I hope more men do, since people are so horribly slow to believe women. :(

(For the record, I totally believe the women accusing him. I just put that "alleged" in there on principle, because none of it has been proven with hard evidence, or in court. But my personally feeling is: I believe the women, and he should be locked up.)

Ok, I've made my decision, Luke Wilson as Aziraphale and Jack Black as Crowley in American Good Omens

They'd both try so hard

Historical detectives, bonus points for historical lady detectives.

Space adventure that ISN'T Star Wars, Star Trek, MCU or connected with Joss Whedon in any way.

No thanks.

Someone who is vehemently against something, usually a ship of some sort, sometimes a character or shippers or a kink or a whole fandom. For instance, in the MCU there is anti-Steve sentiment from some, anti-Tony from other, plus anti-Stucky, and even anti-Steve/whomever(Peggy, Sharon, Tony, Sam, etc.). But it's not just people who don't like something (though sometimes they get lumped in), but people who are very vocal and intense in their dislike and tend to rail at the people who do like that something.

I want more smart comedies, or dramedies that still have comedy and are not really just dramas with two funny moments each episode. I want more Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and The Good Place, less This Is Us.

I’ve been told that a lot of TERFs liked Little My even before the revival.

Many thanks. I thought it was something like that but I've heard it used in a bunch of contexts, so I wasn't sure.

I'm #1 in sales at my job, and my boss just asked me if I wanted more hours starting next week! I said yes, of course, and I've got the next 3 days off too!

Some of them are actually kids though. Like, I've legit seen people arguing in "the discourse" range from 12-17 years old. In their bios and everything.

I think most people here know I'm very social justice conscious, and it is too preachy for me. I just don't feel like it is very good storytelling. It cares more about preaching than telling a story. Most of the episodes barely told a story at all.

It's so well done! And I love the first gif.

I got an.... okay artist in the last Big Bang I did. But she wasn't an artist so much as a "I'm gonna find a bunch of relevant images and make a collage" type of creator. Worse, she's a dear friend of mine, so I privately expressed my disappointment to the admins about having wanted a traditional artist and just publicly grinned and carried on. They were nice collages but definitely not what I'd originally wanted or pictured, and absolutely not able to showcase some of the scenes I'd wanted to have drawn.

It could have been worse, but it's definitely disappointing on the writer's side to not get what you'd wanted, even if it's with people you very much get on with and enjoy talking to/bouncing ideas off of to keep up the writing momentum.

Romcoms with lesbians and bi women, where their sexuality isn't an issue.
