Short answer: they had it before you did. That's what happens when you decide you like a symbol that already has widespread recognition as being associated with a particular minority or specific belief/lifestyle. Ask any feminist who "reclaims" words that are traditionally seen as sexist.

Longer not-answer: Slashing girls would make me gay? How exactly does that work? I'm not quite seeing the connection between "Hey, those people have chemistry" and "I want to have sex with members of my own gender"...

Are you assuming that all slashers make up pairings on the basis of "it's hawt", so finding two girls hot makes me gay? (And how does that explain straight men, the main consumers of girlxgirl porn?) Or that slashers are really writing self-insert threesomes? Or that "I like this story" means "I am aroused by this story"?

I love that movie ridiculously! I have watched it six times in the last two weeks, too, because I finally have it on DVD! :)

No, I don't really pay attention to all that crap, so whatever. If it is, I don't really care. I'm not saying people can't be prejudiced against the whole just because they like one of the group. I've thought waaaay too much about this, and I agree that Sam dying (Because I agree it would have to be Sam too, considering the tragic life he's lead so far and his apparent 'destiny'. Dean dying wouldn't have the same impact, especially when you consider, like you said, that Dean's entire life is and always has been Sam.) would be kind of epic in it's own right, but I would GRIEVE. Like, for months. I wish I was joking.

The thing I disagree with is that I don't think Dean would live without Sam. If it came to that and Sam died, I think Dean would probably end up getting himself killed, probably purposefully, because I can't imagine Dean living alone. And that's exactly what he'd be, completely and totally alone, unlike ever before. I think he'd end it all before he even tried to find a way to move on without Sam, as it would be impossible for him, and though I do think that's a tragically beautiful ending, my heart would be BROKEN.

I could deal with Thelma & Louise. It would be heartbreaking, but still epic, and as long as they go out together then I'll cope. But you've gotta admit, Kripke IS pretty cruel, so I'm just hoping he doesn't suddenly decide Dean needs to take down Sam at the end for the good of the human race and then blah blah, we have Dean holding a dying Sam in the rain and saying he's sorry or some shit because I would never forgive him if Dean ended up killing Sam. (I say Dean killing Sam because I think if he was going to go that route, that would be the one, rather than Sam killing Dean.) I refuse to accept that Dean could ever seriously hurt Sam no matter the consequences.

Right, exactly. Considering that Sam's whole life - his desire to get out of hunting and then being forced back into it, his demon blood and his powers, his position as the apparent Antichrist - has been about hurtling toward something and his attempt to stop it, if it ends in his death, it's a tragic story and makes him a very tragic character. Especially since he's Dean's world and Dean would be left behind. If it was Dean who died - well, Sam isn't Dean-oriented the way Dean is Sam-oriented, and Dean's never had this nefarious destiny or that kind of struggle. It wouldn't be as poetic.

Self-destructive Dean is certainly probable, but it wouldn't satisfy me as much. I'd prefer to see him forced to live with Sam's death, with the fallout, alone, coping as well as he can (not that he'd ever really manage; you know he'd be broken forever). The death only stays meaningful if Dean is there to grieve. Also, I'm awfully sadistic.

OP, btw. Anyway, I'm glad that a few people responded...I didn't expect anything seeing as this movie is more about the pretty than anything else.

I agree there is no. way. Dean can kill Sam. Not after all the events of the series so far. Dean's gone waaaaay out of his way, many times against his better judgment, to keep Sam alive. It would make absolutely no canonical sense if he killed him after everything they've been through together thus far. I honestly don't think Kripke would ever do that though. I mean, he likes making the fans squirm, but so far it's like both brothers have 9 lives. Somehow or other, they always make it back to each other. However, I personally wouldn't mind a Thelma & Louise style ending. SPN is dark enough that it might just be the only ending that makes sense (rather than, say, having the brothers drive off into the sunset in the end).

My internet is a dick so I'm just getting around to checking fs, but haha, I'm glad to see a few people responded. Clearly the movie would be made of win if we at LEAST got a prison bitch joke. And I totally want to see Brian getting cat-calls and such as he leaves jail. It's only fair, not to mention realistic! XD

I can't wait either...OMG. It embarrasses me how much I'm looking forward to this movie.

It's basically canon that Dean could never kill Sam, but as much as I love Kripke, and as much as I admire/respect/have faith in him I still worry from time to time that he's going to do something JUST LIKE THAT just to mess with us (and well, to surprise us, shock us, whatever). Because like you said, he likes to see us squirm, and I know no matter what the series is going out with a big bang, so I hope he just keeps in mind everything that's went on between the brothers so far and stays true to that. Once again, this isn't me knocking on Kripke - I love the guy, but I HAVE seen shows I adored jump the shark before and it would devastate me if that happened to Supernatural. And Dean killing Sam? Would totally be jumping the shark. (Okay, the series would be over by then so I'm not sure you could call it 'jumping the shark', but you get the point.)

I'm probably just more freaked out than I should be because there is next to no possible chance this show is ending pretty. It might be epic, but whatever happens we fangirls are going to be sobbing our eyes out and most likely grieving for weeks or months to come. XD

Driving off into the sunset is nice, but this being SPN that probably isn't going to happen, and it would sort of defeat the purpose of what Kripke's been trying to do all along anyway. I mentioned it somewhere else on this post, but I could actually see - if not a Thelma & Louise style ending - I could see Sam getting killed by some outside source and then Dean doing something incredibly heroic and getting himself killed in the process. Because, you know, there's no way Dean would want to live in a world without Sam.

(SORRY ABOUT THE RANTING! My internet has been a bitch so this is my first time checking up on my secrets and such. Heh.)
