I'm sorry. Really. I wish I had posted a less direct 'I get the feeling that if that had been McCain's face instead, people wouldn't have reacted as strongly.' And you know it's true. Maybe you, reading this now, are more rational than that, but there are plenty who, if they had seen the OP was talking about McCain and Palin, would've just giggle-snorted (maybe frowned a bit) and continued scrolling, rather than getting furious at both the OP and even the mods. We can't be certain without a control, but I bet there was plenty of favoritism causing those angry replies to 109, and it just frustrates me is all. Sorry if I insulted anyone who knows better.

Also, seeing as how we don't vote directly for the president, the Electoral College does, all our vote is is telling them our opinion. And my opinion is that neither Obama or McCain are the best candidate. If more people didn't feel obligated to vote for Republican or Democrat, maybe we could finally steer away from the corrupt two-party system. A defeatist attitude won't lead to progress of any sort.
