I think that's valid if they are treated as objects in their own canon. They'll be just fanservice and not really real respectable characters (not this example, just saying). The same goes for male characters. Besides I never saw this "mythic" girly girls bashing, what I see is a constant bashing of girls who aren't girly, this secret included.

Most female (and MALE) characters in fiction are terrible role models, anyway. Exceptions happen, but really... This doesn't mean they aren't cool, but role models?
