Re: Non-fandom secrets and confessions

I had problems with procrastination. Not just normal, everyday stuff, the crippling, not getting my life together kind. I tried several times to change my habits and radically alter how I go about things, and always flunked out after a few days. What helped me, in the end, was a course I did about that in which learned a technique to deal with it.

It involves making a plan for the next day and sticking to it. The important thing is that success isn't measured in how much you can accomplish, it's in whether you managed to stick to your plan – and the plan can have as much or as little as you want. Actually, doing little is good! Because that's a plan you have a higher chance to enact. So I started with things like, "Tomorrow, from 10 - 10:15, review that lecture, and take the rest of the day off." Because 15 min is so little, I could motivate myself to do it. And sure, I didn't get a lot done – but at the end of the day, I had accomplished more than without a plan (i.e. nothing), I enjoyed my free time without a bad conscience and I felt good about myself because I managed to do get something done, which motivated me to do another plan for the next day. Over time, I expanded how much I'd work, and now I'm more disciplined than I ever was, and more disciplined than many of my peers.

So maybe that could work for you, too. Don't change your life, fine. Just set a very small goal for tomorrow. Maybe measure out your sweets intake for tomorrow today: open, idk, the package of mini chocolate bars, pour some in a box and put the rest of the package away. Make it one less mini bar than you'd usually eat. That's manageable, and it might not be a proper diet, but it's one mini bar less than you'd have eaten otherwise.

Idk. It worked for me.

Anyway, good luck!

Take out the ear loops and replace them with shoelaces or something (I used the waist tie fabric string thingy from an old pair of cheap pajama bottoms). You can tie them behind our head.

Same. You'd have to be some kind of fucking moron to ingest bleach in any way. I just hope these dumbasses don't hurt any kids or old people by giving it to family members.

There'd be no point in getting a gastric bypass or some other surgery if your eating habits don't change drastically, anyway. And any reputable doctor will likely insist that you demonstrate dedication to a lifestyle change because they know the surgery is risky and doing it on someone who's not committed to eating properly afterwards is an unnecessary risk.

Do you WANT to see 40? I'm not being snarky here, just wondering if you feel like it'd be worth it to change if it meant that you physically felt better and stronger, had more energy, etc.

I'm a fellow fat fuck. I do like vegetables but I love food, period and carbs are delicious. I exercise because the dog needs exercise and I try to eat reasonably healthy because I've got a family history of type 2 diabetes and heart trouble. I'll be honest, the change wasn't/isn't as tough on me as it is for you, so I can't really say that you should do this. The thing about an unhealthy lifestyle though, is that it's harder and harder to reverse as you get older because your body can't put up with the abuse. But here's the chilling part: You could easily live well past 40. You'll just feel like shit and have a ton of health problems.

On the bright side, people like you who eat a LOT of sugar tend to drop a lot of weight very quickly if they go cold turkey on it. If I cut out all the sugar in my diet, it wouldn't be that dramatic because I don't eat much sugar in the first place. But you... if you could at least cut back and wean yourself off it, you'd probably see a difference from that alone. The rest is adjusting your palate and mindset. People who eat a lot of sugary junk food fuck up their tastebuds because they're expecting high fat, salt and sugar content and food doesn't taste "right" without it. Going cold turkey for several weeks lets your body and palate recalibrate.

THIS. Ugh, so gross.

Comparing apples with oranges...

(Anonymous) 2020-04-30 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Apples:

Anna is a tsundere. Her dere aspect only shows up when she and Yoh are alone together.

Anna and Yoh have been engaged since they were approximately 10 years old.

That once every 500 years prophecy must be a bitch to deal with.

Oranges:

Superficially, Anna is a tsuntsun. Crabby and strict.

Yoh's shaman training keeps him damned busy.

Fear of failure is a huge theme in Shaman King. It's also a big turnoff sexually as far as anyone can usually attest to.

Even ones that don't look like boobs do that. Anything with an upwardly-facing concave shape (globe, straight-sided bowl shape) would do that. The kitchen light in my old apartment would never be considered a boob light, but I had to clean dead flies and Asian beetles out of it once or twice a year.

I consider them to be pretty low-profile and easy not to even notice, but my house is small and my rooms are small, so when you walk into the bedrooms where the boob lights are (they came with the house, I didn't choose them) you don't really get a view of the ceiling unless you intentionally look up. If my living room had one, I might mind it more, because I'd be more likely to see it without trying.

what was so frustrating is that the filmmakers said they wanted this to be the blackfish of the captive cat world when in reality, after probably the first half hour, it was anything but. they started strong showing the tragedy of what happened in ohio, but it became apparent pretty quick that they didn't care about the animals anymore, it was all about the wackiness of the human story

The thing is, it's not even ~*SCIENCE*~ so much as just common sense. Containers of bleach and other cleaning and sanitizing products have all warnings about not ingesting the stuff or letting kids or pets get at it... We all know perfectly well it's dangerous to consume that stuff and you don't need a scientist to tell you that and politics shouldn't enter into it.

I'm sure there are people willing to believe those warnings are part of a decades-long conspiracy where the cleaning product companies are in league with the drug companies who don't want you to know that you can cure disease just by drinking bleach because we will never live in an idiot-free society, but most people should be able to draw the line at doing something that makes no sense in terms of health and safety.

it really annoys me how people have latched on to carole being the prime villain of this documentary when not only do you have pieces of shit like joe and this probable cult leader, but also mario tabraue who has literally the exact same backstory of being accused of killing his spouse.

I have a friend who lost about 20 lbs just by cutting soda out of her diet because she used to drink 2-3 cans a day. She didn't do anything else, just switched from soda to bubbly water, and she lost nearly 20 lbs just from that alone. Sugar can be a HUGE contributor to weight issues.

That's what I did and it worked. Instead of leaving the bag of chips/cookies open so that I could just keep reaching in and eating more, I would take some out of the bag, put them on a plate and then seal the bag back up and put it away so I had to be consciously aware of going for more snacks instead of just stuffing them into my face without thinking.

Being considered unattractive removes any chance of joy out of one's life.

I used to watch it. (During it's first or second run on American TV)

Cheesy as anything, but surprisingly fun to watch.

Ok, I have a twitter account.
First thing I remember doing with it is muting the orange guy in the white house.
I was spamming that damn account with news articles and other things about how weird the orange guy is.

Paranoid me wonders if this is going to delay my check a week or two.

Thank you anon <3 I have been trying to keep busy, I've picked the worst time to do this since we're in lockdown, haha. I'm making a calendar tonight so I can keep track!

This is really really helpful, thank you so much anon. <3 And congratulations on your sobriety, that must have been tough. I'm sorry your family weren't more supportive. :( But you still did it and that's amazing. Well done. <3

My boyfriend is... kind of supportive? He's not against me quitting but he also won't offer any encouragement/ unless I "prompt" him. I said to him last night while I was really low "please just tell me I'm doing okay" and he said "you're doing very well." and that was that. It's like he forgets I'm detoxing unless I draw attention to it? I know it's silly to expect praise and I don't expect a round of applause or anything, just, idk. It's not in his nature I guess.

Thank you again for all your advice. I really appreciate and will be keeping it handy for the days ahead. x

I second this. I lost weight by removing soda from my life for a month or drastically decreasing the amount I took in, not putting sugar in my cups of tea, shrinking the amount of cookies/potato chips I ate, drinking more water, and eating more salads.

Because fandom is misogynistic. That's, like, literally the default. It explains the reception to this doc and it absolutely explains the editing of this doc.
