The use of primary colors and white used on the main character's Gundam and pilot suit, and the use of secondary colors on the remaining three meisters are straight from high school art theory books. They just couldn't make Virtue/Seravee/Seraphim purple because it wouldn't stand out on a black background in space.

All humans are selfish to varying degrees, it's only a matter of whether you realize and accept the fact and how much of it you reveal to others. Ali is practical to the extreme. He'd do anything for good money and ruin people's lives for emotional enjoyment while he's at it. Common folk would sabotage their colleague's work or badmouth them in order to prevent becoming the one laid off during hard times. They do it for money and ruin people's lives. Many would even shift the blame onto others and feign a good image while they're at it, some would even be in denial that they're selfish acts. We're all doing it for ourselves, just on a smaller scale than Ali. There's nothing charming about it. It's just not worth the energy to loathe over human nature constantly.
I am sick of the lack of development in his character though. He's been nothing but a troll since day one and still is (presumably). Ali to Gundam is like plot twists to CLAMP series.
