...You feel inferior to fans of a movie you don't care much about, just because they do? I think that's a slight overreaction. Different people have different tastes, and not same movies appeal to everyone. For example, I've never understood what's so great about The Lion King, despite being a fan of animated films.

But yeah, some Wall-E fans will bite if you even dare to suppose it's not absolutely perfect. It doesn't seem to be one of those fandoms where you can hang around if you just think the movie was OK and you kinda liked it. This overprotectiveness is probably the worst trait of said fandom. Other than that, they're relatively sane (for a fandom), at least those I've met.


However, a lot of fandoms tend to think whatever-they're-fans-of is amazing. That's because a fandom is built out of the people who think that in the first place.
