Quite a few furries are just in it because anthros and intellectual animals are awesome. I mean, I'm asexual, but I also like to pretend I'm a dragon online and would not be opposed to having a Lurkdragon mask, gloves, and/or tail - thus, furry. Or scaley.

Obviously OP would like to be in the fandom for the sexual aspect, but it's really not that different from "I would do Sephiroth if he were real" or "I'm totally gonna make a Captain Kirk cosplay" or "check it out, guys, I drew myself as if I was a Jedi" or whatever.
