I often feel the 'magical cure' divide is much like the 'mutant cure' divide in X-men.

For everyone one person with something that is usually cured by magic (neurodivergence, chronic illness, etc) that would embrace being without that 'thing', there is one person who wouldn't and it seems that they both virulently hate each other rather than accepting that everyone has different feelings about who they are and how their lives have shaped them and whether or not they would be different without those experiences.

I don't think writers will ever win either side of that fight tbh.
