Because I get at least one message like this per week:

Membership at fandomsecrets is closed.

But it's possible to participate without being an actual member: just watch the community. Anon commenting/user commenting is enabled everywhere, and you don't have to be a member to make secrets or read them. If you want to submit secrets, just comment anon to the submission post.
