As an ace, I do think platonic relationships are great and important and love them in canon, but I have much less interest in writing or reading about them in fanfic. For fic I want ships, and sometimes I want them with porn. And I have especially little interest in fic about headcanoned ace characters being ace, unless it's short fic about them discovering they're ace and that's it. I'm not gonna read a multi chapter fic about Awesome Ace Character Being Awesomely Ace.
