Giving a failed project a second chance is a nice thought, but from a marketing standpoint, a terrible idea that's not likely to find many people willing to put the necessary money behind it. Playing off the name recognition of a failure (or a project that never got off the ground and may not have any significant name recognition) looks like a very poor gamble to investors.

Good for you. I stopped writing fic years ago and now instead I rp. I find it so much more fulfilling and make lots of friends!

I'm one of many who have been burned by WIPs in the past and won't read fics until they're finished and fully posted (I only post complete works for the same reason). Some will read but won't comment/kudos until they're finished in case the story takes a turn that doesn't work for them.

You're not the only one that feels this way, but it comes off as immature to refuse to enjoy a hobby over external validation. And it sucks for loyal readers who enjoy WIPs and can only leave one kudos.

Google made a conscious and highly successful effort to revamp the way YouTube comments work so they're now much more positive and not a toxic pit.

There are definitely some channels I follow where the comments feel like being part of a nice comm!

Fucking Bubsy got a remake, but somehow a war story with lore on the level of contemporary science fiction, and a goddamn Dinosaurs vs. Gorillas fighting game, were not good enough.

I wholeheartedly agree. But that would involve investors having any balls, and not being addicted to sugar.
