I don't know the source so like... confirmed ace or "ace"? And as someone on the ace spectrum, is kissing like... a big no for all aces? Even sex isn't a hard no for all aces. Physical enjoyment =/= sexual attraction always.

Hmmmm. As a book-first-but-not-only fan, I do think it's worth reading the books - at least, most of them; there are a few I would suggest skimming. But they add a lot of richness and texture to the worldbuilding and to the characters, and IMO that's worth putting up with RJ's tics.

OTOH I might consider holding off till season 2 before reading them so you can get a better picture of the characters from the TV show fixed in your head, because I think that's probably a better experience for watching the show - to start with the version on the screen, and then expand it with the version in the books, rather than vice versa.

I think this is mostly true of any large city, though, besides New York. If you're going to have cop shows, one of the most interesting things you can do with them is to have them be really rooted in a specific urban location. And most cities haven't had a ton of shows like that recently. Besides New York.

I've only played the first game, and she's like 19 and too busy saving the world to get into relationship drama so nothing is confirmed in the first game. Unless they say she's ace in the second game before this DLC, then this is just OPs headcanon.

Sucks for OP that this is enough for them to refuse to play a very enjoyable game. As an ace lady married to another ace lady, this just makes me look forward to playing it even more.
