You can add so many delicious things to burgers! So many possibilities.

Astarion and Karlach? Cuz literally every other hetero pairing if its between Companions is definitely a rare pair in this fandom, at least when it comes to fanfiction or fanart. Tons of M/F between Tavs/Durges and Origins but comparatively very little M/F for Origin/Origin.

I've found the Impossible Burger to be a really good substitution!

I don't remember it being quite so widespread and out in the open during 2014 Tumblr.

Then again, I've been drifting in and out of fandom since 2016, so maybe it was this widespread and I have rose colored glasses on.

The Impossible Burger is very tasty, and what tickles me pink is that the locally owned burger joint in my neighborhood has it, and you can get it with bacon. LOL

I shipped it HARD when I was young, but I had an epiphany while rewatching a few years back that them being a couple was *not the point*. And my mind was blown.

Although, I think they're part of a false belief that all will-they/won't-they couples suck after getting together. With those couples that tend to suck immediately after getting together, we are shown little to none of the relationship building up, they just skip to the next chapter, ie Bones. In both that show and X-Files we still don't even know when they originally hooked up. We just went from 0-baby. X-Files also chose to confirm the ship with half of it leaving the show. You don't hook up a couple just before one half of it disappears with the actor, ffs.

Brainy/Nia from Supergirl, I just think they’re so cute and loved their scenes together.

I can't speak to how out in the open it is now, but in the mid-2010s you couldn't go into a tumblr ship tag without seeing posts calling you some terrible type of person (pedo, racist, abuser apologist, whatever) for shipping the pair in question. So I can't see DL;DR as a recent casualty of newbie influx, but if it's gotten even worse, that's pretty wild. I would have thought discord servers would have eliminated some of that, but I could see how those could go off the rails, too.

IDK, I'm so old at this point that it's hard to remember when fandom wasn't a shitshow LOL.

What do you all like making in yours? Going to try chicken nuggets tomorrow.

Yes, we're doing flat track in a very tiny club that just about died during Covid and by players moving away and taking up in other cities. Currently we are five or six who skate and everyone but one has started after 2021-22. We're hoping to get new members next semester.

Okay, yeah. Now that you mention it, it was definitely there. Maybe it just feels like it's gotten worse, but you're right. Fandom at large as a community does tend to devolve into a shitshow.
