Unless OP is exclusively or mostly following rich tech guys though, that doesn't really explain things. IME the whales are very open about being rich, like you said, and it's clear where those guys' money is coming from, so it's not those people OP would wonder about.

Either way, whales like that still make up a tiny minority of the actual playerbase in terms of population. The implication that there are more secret rich guys playing Genshin vs. regular people who are knowing or unknowing gacha addicts who then turn around and post their draws for more positive feedback seems inaccurate to me.
