Huh. This secret made me realize I prefer interspecies ships to remain interspecies. Or else it's idk, not interspecies any more. It's just two humans or two ogres.

I'm sorry, I know this isn't the point of the secret but I recoiled so hard at the mere idea of "kinky audiofiles" it shocked me. I cannot imagine listening to that stuff without recoiling in secondhand embarrassment. Which I recognize is a me problem, I'm not judging you, more kind of laughing at my own ott reaction.

I get you. I feel like nonhuman turning human is such a lame cop out and boring, but human turned nonhuman is a yes.

Ooh, what about nonhuman turned human paired with human turned nonhuman!

SA - sorry that should be 'audio stories' not 'audiofiles'

I absolutely love the screen cap of Robin for this secret. He is aghast!

Weird stuff on the internet

What have you found out there in the wilds recently?

(Anonymous) 2025-05-19 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad you were able to get that off your chest here.

Care to elaborate at all on what you think the TV show did better?

Trailer Park Alien and Throw It Back

So fucking weird and random and good. It feels like old school YouTube videos people used to make, just weird and fun.

Same. I love interspecies ships, part of the fun is the interspecies.

Although, I will say it could be interesting to explore what if one of the character's species changed physically, but they are still the same character who grew up as the other species and retain all their personality/identity/culture even when they physically change.

Today, I went down a small rabbit hole that ended with me perusing r/antisex over on Reddit. Mostly, it was what I expected, having encountered a few antisexualists elsewhere. But then, I came across a truly bizarre person, whose comments brought me up short.

This man believes that oxytocin is equivalent to alcohol, that it's the source of loneliness, and that is has nothing to do with love (this is despite it in reality being the chemical that creates that feeling of being "bonded" with a loved one. It's not even sexual; in fact, elevated levels of oxytocin can depress libido. But he thinks it causes people to positively recall sexual experiences, which is bad). So, he has started experimenting with taking generic heartburn medication, the stuff that's equivalent to Pepcid AC, in order to stop his body from producing oxytocin. He went on to say that he's "testing it" on his friends, his family, and his fucking cat. Why is he giving it to his cat, you ask? Because his cat wants attention and affection too much! He said he's tried to entertain her, but she just keeps wanting more and acting "bored," so now he's giving her Pepcid.

Someone pointed out that taking heartburn medication long-term is bad for the heart. His response is that the supposed side effects from long-term use are in fact symptoms of withdrawal from oxytocin. Here's how he got there: the heart problems associated with mainlining Pepcid are similar to what happens when an alcoholic is in withdrawal, and since oxytocin is the same as alcohol, it's gotta be withdrawal, and not the slow-moving overdose of a drug. As proof, he cited a study about alcohol withdrawal. Nothing in it about oxytocin or heartburn meds, unsurprisingly.

I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. This guy's gonna hurt his cat while thinking he's this super ethical guy, and he won't listen to anyone about it.
