I do think the ones elected need to obstruct more. That's the least they can do, to present a united front. And it's true, the Right is good at playing the long game as long as they can have power.
But I would not simply suggest people stop voting for Democratic candidates. Instead, I would say to be discerning about your vote. Be well informed on the issues AND on what your candidate stands for, because that will help you figure out which candidate is needed at which election. I don't subscribe to "vote blue no matter who" but at this time, we do need the Democratic party to get their asses in gear. Research the good ones, the ones who aren't bought off by corporations, the more progressive ones, and vote them in on every level, from your local school board to the President. Consider running yourself if you're the type of person to.
I would also not be quick to say "fuck the system," because apparently it worked well enough for Republicans (even if they also bent the rules at times). They're just a lot more patient than Democrats are.
In the meantime, pressure any sitting Senators and Reps to do the right thing, and primary them when they're not doing their job.
