I don't know if cdramas are your thing, but there's a funny series called New Life Begins that starts with the plucky, food-obsessed heroine showing up for a mandatory ceremony where she's been chosen for an arranged marriage into the royal family. She ends up marrying who everyone believes is a sickly young prince who is hiding his strengths because he doesn't want to get into political trouble, she makes friends with the other ladies who marry other princes, and the concubines of her brother in law, plus she and her husband fall in love gradually, but then he has to take on another wife in a political alliance. All the ladies hang out together and manage the household, start a business running a restaurant and everyone's got their own responsibilities.

It's fairly progressive by cdrama standards, and there's a happy ending.
